From Scoutmaster:

Good afternoon everyone,

At our PLC last night, the boys elected to have a fun meeting at Laser zone.

I need to have at least two or three additional adults present for adequate supervision.

As a result of the Friday meeting, we will not have a meeting Tuesday the 7th. The committee meeting, however, is still scheduled.

The next scheduled troop meeting will be Tuesday, October 14.

Upcoming events:
Campout at Lake Texana - October 17-19 (Reminder, this is our recruiting campout. I have not heard of commitments yet from any of the Webelo Dens)
Fall Court of Honor - Tuesday, October 21

Regards to all,

Mr. Philpott

Committee meeting change and more...

Scouters and Parents:

Two items for your immediate attention:

Item #1 - Committee Meeting Date Change
It has come to my attention that next Tuesday, Oct. 7, is parent night at all FBISD high schools. (Being an FBISD high school parent myself, I probably should have known this.) Because we have so many parents who would like to visit their kids' schools, and because there is no troop meeting on Tuesday the 7th anyway, the next troop committee meeting will take place the following Tuesday, Oct. 14, same time, same place. An agenda will be forthcoming.

Item #2 - RSVP to Chaperone Friday Night's Lazer Zone Activity
As Charles mentioned in an earlier e-mail, he needs two or three additional adults to attend the troop's Lazer Zone event tomorrow night, Friday, Oct. 3. If your Scout is attending, please strongly consider staying so we can have sufficient coverage and adhere to the BSA's strict two-deep leadership policy. If you can stay, please RSVP to me by replying to this e-mail (please do not hit "Reply All.")

Please mark your calendars for the next troop committee meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. at Southminster Presbyterian Church.

An agenda will be forthcoming later this week. If anyone has any agenda items to propose (other than the regular reports from members with specific responsibilities), please let me know in the next couple of days.

Update from CC - Sept 20

Troop 1852 Families:

A quick note to let everyone know that:

Troop 1852 will resume troop meetings this Tuesday, Sept. 23.

The September campout will take place this coming weekend, Sept. 26 - 28, at Guadalupe River State Park. At Tuesday's meeting, we will need to double-check and update registration for this campout because some who planned to go originally may not be able to make the new date, and because some who couldn't make the original date may be able to make the new one. The boys who are attending will plan menus and duty rosters at Tuesday's troop meeting.

Camping update Sept 16

This weekends camp out has been rescheduled...Guadalupe River State Park to the following weekend Sept 26-28.

Tuesday Sept 16

Troop 1852 Families:

I hope that everyone has survived Hurricane Ike with minimal damage and disruption and that lives are getting back to normal. Please note the following change of plans due to the storm:

*The troop meeting for Tuesday, Sept. 16, is canceled.
*Because Tuesday's troop meeting was to be the campout planning meeting, and because of the uncertainty surrounding schedules this week, this weekend's campout at Guadalupe River State Park has also been canceled. The committee is exploring options for a September campout, including the weekend of Sept. 26 - 28. As soon as decisions are made, we will let you know.

Please continue to monitor e-mail and the troop Web site (www.troop1852.org) for updates.

Also, because many people still do not have electricity, Internet service, and/or phone service, please do what you can to help ensure that this information gets to all troop members.

Finally, if anyone needs anything because of the hurricane, please call me at 281.969.8037 and I'll see what I can do to get you some help.
